CONSTRUCTION COMMENCEMENT FOR THE FIRST RPET PELLETS PRODUCTION FACILITY IN SERBIA
fotoThe foundation stone for the first facility in Serbia to produce RPET pellets (PET re-granulate – new PET bottle production raw material) by the means of recycling post-consumer PET bottles, was laid on Friday, November 9, 2012, in Mladenovo near Backa Palanka.

Green Group is going to materialize EUR 5mn investment in the new Greentech facilities in Mladenovo (Backa Palanka municipality) during the first half of 2013. Planned investment includes construction of waste water treatment facility, new production facility, hot PET bottle washing line installation and the first Serbian "bottle to bottle" facility (per Vacurema technology). Facility will enable recycling waste PET bottles into the final product - RPET pellets.

Post-consumer PET packaging recycling shall, for the first time in Serbia, enable production of RPET Pellets to be used  for PET preforms production, substituting thus far exclusively imported PET virgin pellets. Utilizing less expensive domestic raw material produced in accordance with EU standard approved recycling technology shall in turn help PET packaging producers reduce their production costs as well as impact environmental protection in Serbia. Greentech's new facilities will help create 50 new jobs in the Serbian recycling industry.

Backa Palanka municipality Mayor, Mr. Bojan Radman,  emphasized that Greentech’s new production facilities shall significantly contribute solving the unemployment issues in Mladenovo as well as in the neighboring settlements.

Mr. Daniel Banu, Romanian Ambassador, marked the beginning of Greentech (member of Romania based Green Group) new production facility construction, by expressing his satisfaction with the increasing volume of Romanian investments in Serbia as well as Romanian plastics recyclers’ experience contributing to plastics recycling industry improvement in Serbia, and thus the recyclable waste collection.

Green Group's board of directors representative, Ms. Alina Genes, said that Green Group is to become European post-consumer PET bottles recycling capacity leader thanks to three Vacurema technology based production lines purchase for the production facilities in Romania and Serbia,

Mr. Mihail Mateski, general manager of Greentech doo in Serbia, stated during the occasion that the new production facility is the Greentech production capacities expansion stepping stone, being already quite certain that the near future would see the polyethylene processing facility investment materialization, enabling creation of further 30 jobs in Mladenovo facilities.
