Greentech Ltd. Novi Sad participated in the 8th Regional "Environment towards Europe" Conference dedicated to Green Economy, held in Belgrade on May 22-23, and organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning of Republic of Serbia, Environmental Ambassadors and Serbian Chamber of Commerce. The event was executed as a part of Serbian Rio+20 delegation preparation, with Rio+20 being the United Nations summit to be held in June in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, considered the world's most important heads of governments gathering in the history of mankind. At the conference Greentech’s official presented results of the survey conducted during early May among private collectors; members of Greentech collection Network. Results showed that since 2009 and the adoption of a set of “Green Regulations”, there is an increase in number of private companies engaged in the waste collection, as well as the number of their employees. According to the study findings – private collectors’ corporate network now has 540 permanent job positions and further 1.540 part-time jobs in the waste collecting business. New legislation implementation has since 2009 hepled contribute to a steady growth of the collected quantities of waste. The study participating collectors indicated that guaranteed purchase of all collected materials, stable prices, short-term for payments and Greentech’s collecting equipment investments are key collection improving factors.
