GREENTECH IN “LET'S CLEAN SERBIA” ACTIVITY
Greentech Ltd Novi Sad, plastics recycling company, engaged in the “Let's Clean Serbia” Activity organized by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, and executed throughout the Serbian proper during Saturday, June 4, thus marking the World Environment Day. Greentech workers were cleaning the Lovrenac channel near the village of Mladenovo, in the vicinity of Backa Palanka. Approximately 12 cubic meters of waste was collected during the event. Post-consumer PET bottles made up the most of collected waste, as they were separated and recycled within the Greentech’s recycling facility in Mladenovo after the event. The other “Let's Clean Serbia” activity participants’ experiences acting on various locations throughout Serbia showed that post-consumer PET bottles are among the biggest environmental polluters.

Post-consumer PET packaging waste build up in Serbian rivers is especially problematic. The South Morava river most recent example clearly shows the citizens’ negligence causing serious environmental pollution that is difficult to repair, especially when it comes to water. Greentech, in cooperation with its collecting network members, puts its maximum effort into raising awareness regarding the proper PET packaging disposal importance in order for it to become the valuable raw material instead of polluter.

Greentech’s volunteering Lovrenac channel cleaning activities within the “Let's Clean Serbia” Activity clearly represents Company’s additional contribution in a struggle for a cleaner and healthier environment.
