fotoHis Excellency, Ambassador Mr. Shen Lyushun, Taipei Representative Office in the United Kingdom, Ms. Anna Ho, First Secretary, Taipei Representative Office, Budapest, Hungary, and Mr. Bill Huang, Senior Consultant, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), visited the GREENTECH headquarters in Novi Sad as well as GREENTECH’s Recycling Facility in Mladenovo near Backa Palanka on Thursday, February 13, 2014.

Greentech Ltd. Novi Sad, Plastics Recycling Company, operating in Serbia since 2005, is the first and only Taiwanese shared capital investment in Serbia. Green Group’s (with Greentech Ltd. Novi Sad being the integral part thereof) shareholder structure was since 2012 joined by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, enabling new investment cycle in Serbian PET bottle recycling facility.

Visiting the Greentech’s new Mladenovo facilities, his Excellency, Ambassador Mr. Shen Lyushun, Taipei Representative Office in the UK, expressed his satisfaction with so far the only Taiwanese shared capital investment in Serbia becoming such an extremely positive example of good practice. Alongside Japan, the Taiwan is the world recycling leader, with Far East experiences contributing to Green Group becoming European PET bottles recycling leader in such a short time upon its establishment.

In order to promote their country and culture in Serbia, Taiwanese representatives invited students from Serbia to apply for the Government of Taiwan scholarship and continue their education, in either Chinese or English, in a country renowned as a world’s IT technology leader. Government of Taiwan scholarship covers the cost of study and basic living expenses, and depending on the particular study curriculum the stay in Taiwan can take from 6 months to 4 years.
