BAČKA PALANKA MUNICIPALITY AND GREENTECH SIGNED THE LONG-TERM COOPERATION PROTOCOL TO PROMOTE RECYCLING
FotoPresident of the Bačka Palanka municipality, Mr. Bojan Radman and Mr. Mihail Mateski, general manager of Greentech Ltd, plastic recycling company, signed a long-term cooperation protocol to promote household waste primary selection and recycling in the Bačka Palanka municipality. Greentech will continuously conduct educational campaigns aimed at raising environmental awareness of the population of Bačka Palanka municipality during next three years, with Municipality providing institutional support for these activities. The signing of this Protocol officially launched the "Help Planet Recycle" („Planeti pomaži u reciklaži“) project, encompassing educational workshops on environmental protection being conducted in primary and secondary schools of the Bačka Palanka municipality, hosting approximately 1.500 pupils as integral part thereof.
Greentech will, as a part of the Campaign, donate dedicated containers for PET packaging waste disposal to Project involved schools, enabling pupils to dispose of packaging waste within their school thus funneling it to recycling.

Pupils in the Bačka Palanka municipality will have the opportunity to participate in the prize contest titled "My Planet - My Problem" (“Moja planeta – moj problem”) for the best picture, art work and photo comic book on the topic of environmental protection.

During the Protocol signing, Mr. Bojan Radman, the Mayor, said that the presence of International Company, such as Greentech, on the municipality territory bares great significance for Bačka Palanka, and that the Municipality, on their behalf, will give their full support to each and every activity aimed at expanding the existing capacity and improving PET waste collection and recycling. Mr. Radman further emphasized that Greentech’s new investment into the first Serbian RPET production facility (recycled Granulate for the production of new PET bottles) as well as the polyethylene recycling facility combined creating 100 new jobs, represent projects of great importance, and the Greentech’s intended Campaign as a way of filling the capacity of the new recycling facilities.
Mr. Mihail Mateski, general manager of Greentech, said he expects the new facilities to be completed within the next six months, emphasizing that the cooperation protocol signing is the natural extension of existing cooperation between the Bačka Palanka municipality and Greentech.
The Protocol signing was attended by Mr. Hung Clement, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Green Group (Greentech being the member of). He addressed the officials and members of media stating that he is proud to have the opportunity to participate in this event because of the great importance Green Group’s been giving to both economic and environmental aspects of the business. Green Group’s business activities contribute to waste reduction, environmental protection, and conservation of natural resources and energy, with citizens as their key partners. Citizens and recycling industry synergy contributes to sustainable development. “This is exactly the reason why the Green Group, within the framework of our promotional activities, has been intensively devoted to public education, especially that of the children and youngsters, and frankly I am very pleased that, with support of the Bačka Palanka municipality, the Greentech Serbia shall despite the commitment to build new production facilities devote their attention to social responsible work within the community during the next 3 years” said Mr Hung.
