GREENTECH AT THE ”PLANETIZE! RECYCLE” FESTIVAL
FotoGreentech participated at the Green Initiative organized ”Planetize! Recycle” („Oplaneti se! Recikliraj“) environmental festival held in Studio M in Novi Sad on Thursday, December 31. Green Initiative organized the festival in collaboration with the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC) and with financial backing from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Festival visitors had the opportunity to see the recycled steel cube with light effects, participate in the old newspapers or plastics masks making as well as making other items of recycled waste in the creative corner. Recycling maze was shown during the occasion with festival visitors bringing and exchanging old books in the books exchange corner.
The round table ”Planetize! Revive the Waste” held at the Studio M hall was aimed at emphasizing the importance of recycling and promoting waste reuse. Results of ”Planetize! Revive the Waste” activities were presented at the round table, exampling collaboration between local governments and citizens' associations. Ms. Kristina Cvejanov, Greentech’s PR, took active part in the round table discussion alongside the representatives of the Green initiative, the City of Novi Sad Environmental Protection Administration, and Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection. Ms. Cvejanov took the opportunity to remind the attendees of the five year Waste Management Law adoption anniversary, being the right point to summarize the results in this domain, correct the existing legislation and project new five-year plan that will help raise collected waste quantities. Ms. Kristina Cvejanov stressed that business and non-governmental sectors have done a lot, with the weakest link, as expected, being the public sector. During the last five years Greentech has managed to significantly improve its collecting network both in terms of infrastructure and in increasing the number of suppliers, especially in private sector, contributing to the increasing quantities recycled PET packaging waste.
