VALJEVO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS RECYCLING EDUCATION

“Good People” Association (Udruženje ”Dobri ljudi”) and the Valjevo “Youth Office”, in cooperation with Greentech Ltd. Novi Sad, plastics recycling company, executed a four-day environmental protection peer educator training. Training participants were able to acquire basic knowledge regarding the types of waste, waste recycling and its importance in environmental protection, energy efficiency, the greenhouse effect impacted by mankind and the climate change it causes. Active workshop participation indicated youngsters’ highly motivated to engage in the environmental protection, with one of the practical issues in terms of creating an ecological household mini guide being successfully solved.

RECYCLING BOTTLE CAPS LEADS THE WAY TO NEW GYM

Bottle caps collecting campaign in cooperation with children parents was organized at „Radosno detinjstvo“ ("Happy Childhood") preschool institution’s „Dunavski cvet“ ("Danube Flower") kindergarten in Novi Sad’s Telep suburb. „Dunavski cvet“ kids collected some 150 kg of bottle caps and sent them to plastics recycling company Greentech Ltd. Novi Sad. This way raised funding will be used to renovate kindergarten gym.

Bottle caps collecting activity in cooperation with Greentech is set to continue in the coming months.

UNITED STATES EMBASSY REPRESENTATIVES VISIT GREENTECH

Mr. Douglas Apostol, Economic Chief of the US Embassy in Serbia, and Mr. Dejan Gajic, US Embassy Economic Assistant, visited Greentech Ltd. headquarters in Novi Sad, and then the production facilities in Mladenovo on Friday, July 29. U.S. Embassy representatives were interested for the current recycling sector situation, Serbian collecting network development and its improvement possibilities. During the occasion Mr. Douglas Apostol expressed his belief that proper waste disposal education is extremely important for the environmental protection. He cited the United States example, where the continuing education provided excellent results, significantly contributing to raising awareness regarding the environmental protection importance. Mr. Apostol further added that he would put his personal effort to allocate funding within the US Embassy’s donation program to support recycling importance citizens’ education and primary waste selection efficient system establishment.

GREENTECH AWARDED REGIONAL “BUSINESS PARTNER”

Regional “Business Partner” Awards were presented to representatives of 44 Serbian and the regional companies in Belgrade, on June 23, 2011. The awards were granted by the Mass Media International for the 17th , and on this occasion under the slogan "Partner is most important in business as well as in life” ("U biznisu kao i u životu najvažniji je partner"). Companies’ awards were presented in four categories: Regional “Business Partners”, Special Awards (presented to the companies and institutions that have made special contribution to education and professional edification), Media Business Partner (successfully contributing to the business environment improvement as well as regional integration by the means of responsible and professional conduct) and Business Partner for 2011.

Single company from each of the regional countries selected for the regional “Business Partners” were - Metal cinkara (Metal galvanizing plant) - Slovenia, Atlantic Group - Croatia, MOL Group - Hungary, Greentech - Romania, ASBISc Enterprises - Cyprus, Bekto-Precisa - Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Aerodrom - Montenegro .

GREENTECH AWARDED BY NOVI SAD’S REGIONAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Regional Chamber of Commerce Novi Sad, traditionally celebrated the Chamber Day on June 9, 2011.

During the occasion, the Chamber president, Mr. Dragan Lukac, presented the June awards (Junske nagrade) to both companies and individuals posting significant business results, and made significant regional economy development contributions in the preceding year.
