PLASTICS RECYCLING AT THE SCIENCE FESTIVAL
Formally invited by the Faculty of Technology (University of Novi Sad), company Greentech Ltd. Novi Sad participated at the 4th Science Festival, held on May, 12-13 at the campus of the University of Novi Sad. At the booth of the Department of Materials Engineering, Greentech presented plastics recycled products - PET flakes, being the raw material for the PET fibers and PET packaging tape production.

Booth visitors, mostly children and youngsters, had the opportunity to hear about the recycling process, the plastic bottle recycling products and the importance of recycling. Professor at the Faculty of Technology Ms. Branka Pilić, PhD, gave a lecture "Put the right thing in the right place. What is PET?" within the Festival of Science’s post-consumer PET bottles recycling promotion at the Faculty’s amphitheater.

GREENTECH IN ACTION "PLANETIZE! RECYCLE" CAMPAIGN IN BACKI PETROVAC
Waste paper and post-consumer PET bottles collection was organized within the "Planetize! Recycle" environmental campaign in Backi Petrovac on April 30, with “Jan Čajak” elementary school pupils being the largest responding group thereof. The total of four tons of waste was collected, which was in turn sent for recycling in cooperation with Tehnopapir and Greentech Ltd.

Comprehensive program for the occasion was organized in the “Jan Čajak” school, prepared by the pupils and their teachers. Pupils competed in environmental quiz, performed recycle promoting skits, with part of the cultural program performed in honor of “Green Initiative” (Zelena inicijativa) guests consisting of music, dance, and folklore performances.

2011 - THE MOST SUCCESSFUL DURING SEVEN YEARS OF GREENTECH EXISTENCE
GREENTECH Ltd Novi Sad, plastics recycling company, recorded company annual high of 4.000 tons of recycled post-consumer PET packaging during 2011, which is 30% increase compared to last year. The company contributed this success to its significant commitment to both collection network expansion and production capacity improvements. Greentech has invested some RSD17 million in order to increase its provider’s network capacity. Company completed the acquisition of special purpose bins, presses, conveyor-belts, perforators, trucks and other collection equipment. Number of suppliers, both utility companies and individual collectors, increased by 25% during 2011.

THE HAGUE CONFERENCE REPORT, APRIL 11-12, 2012:
Business Action for Sustainable Development 2012 - Contribution for Rio +20

 Around the globe government officials and business sector representatives held their consultations in the Hague, Netherlands, during April 11-12, 2012, as part of Rio+20 (UN Sustainable Development Conference) preparations, organized by "Business Action for Sustainable Development 2012".

More than 300 participants took part in "Understanding inclusive and green development" discussion, analyzing the possibility for the business sector innovation capabilities and adaptation to be maximally utilized in its transformation into a green economy.

 The Hague Consultations were organized by the Dutch government, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the Business Action for Sustainable Development (BASD2012) business groups’ coalition dedicated to sustainable development and facilitate the opinions and ideas exchange regarding the future world’s economy sustainable development. Conclusions from the Hague will be provided in the form of worldwide private business sector’s joint message and expectations presented to the key conference Rio+20 government participants.

 “The main conclusion is that the business sector and governments must work together in order to make the move”, as Mr. Sha Zukang, Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs (heading the UN’s Department of Economic and Social Affairs) put it, "from paper to implementation".

EARTH DAY MARKED WITH LECTURE FOR THE HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENTS
Agricultural high-school students in Obrenovac, Serbia, received lecture to mark the Earth Day within the "Recycling isn’t hassling" project administered by the Belgrade Youth Office, Consecogreen (environmental protection consulting and management company) and Greentech Ltd. Novi Sad (plastics recycling company) on Monday, April 23. Lectures and workshops provided the opportunity for around 100 young citizens of Obrenovac to learn about the importance of post-consumer packaging collection, separation and recycling as well as composting, with further topics encompassing climate change, energy efficiency and other issues of great importance to environmental protection. The lecturers were Ms. Kristina Cvejanov, Greentech PR Manager and Ms. Jelena Vasic, Consecogreen. Greentech donated post-consumer PET packaging bin to agricultural school in Obrenovac for the occasion, with “Eco Yard” association (Udruženje „Eko dvorište“) being responsible for their discharge. Consecogreen and the Belgrade Youth Office acquired organic waste compost bin for the School requirements, and with Recan Fund donating can collecting boxes.
